A lot goes in to making a workplace inclusive, doesn’t it?
Some things you might want to consider:
- Physical design
- Environment (e.g. sounds, smells, tactile sensations etc)
- Signage
- Safety
- Parking
- Adaptations for people with sight loss
- Stairs v ramps (installed at legal inclines, of course!)
- Seating and table/desk heights
- Use of colour and pattern
- Suitable tech equipment…
- the list goes on…
- and on…
- and on.
A consultation with us is your first step towards making your premises accessible and inclusive to all.
One of our trained advisors will meet with you to discuss your requirements (ideally at your premises) so that we can fully understand your needs and the goal you wish to achieve.
This may require a full accessibility audit of your workplace so that we can identify where any changes might be made. This might include ‘testing’ the site using accessibility aids such as wheelchairs and/or scooters, and taking measurements and photographs / videos. We aim to be as unobtrusive to your workday as possible and would not ask for any special accommodations to be made.
Previous clients have told us that they found it invaluable to undertake the audit alongside our advisors, so they gained a real understanding of what it really means to be inclusive, and have a real-life understanding of how it feels to be a person with a disability visiting their premises. We welcome you to join us on your audit!
Following the site audit, a comprehensive report will be provided to you with our full findings, advice, and recommendations, alongside potential funding routes (if necessary). Our advisor can also present the findings in person (at a board meeting, for example) if you choose this option.
