This unit aims to help individuals understand their rights and responsibilities when in the workplace.
The course consists of:
- Assessing (if required) the support needed by the individual and creating a ‘wishlist’ of any reasonable adjustments that might need to be made
- Identifying any potential hazards in the immediate workplace
- Discussion with the individual their expectations of the workplace and what is expected of them
- Advising of relevant people to go to for support and creating a ‘plan of action’ should the employee need additional support, or time away from their workplace
- Understanding the individuals’ requirements when in the workplace
This course takes around 2.5 hours to complete and is delivered on a 1:1 basis prior to the employee beginning work with your organisation. The session is highly tailored to meet the individuals’ needs and is delivered in a friendly, non-pressured environment to help the employee feel at ease.
Depending on the employee, this can be extended so that once Part 1 is complete, the employee, their manager, HR representative or person of your choice, and our agent can meet to share findings and ensure the employee is happy to begin work, and that you, as an employer, have all of the information you need.
